Diet and workout tips that work

We all want to be our fittest selves, but with so much advice floating around out there, it can be hard to hone in on what healthcare tips actually work. To make your life a bit easier, we’ve rounded up a number of our go-to healthy strategies, to help you reach your most ambitious fitness goals even quicker.
Say hello to H2O:
Whether you're heading off to spin class, boot camp, or any other exercise, it's always important to hydrate so you can stay energized and have your best workout. Electrolyte-loaded athletic drinks, though, can be a source of unnecessary calories, so "drinking water is usually fine until you're exercising for more than one hour". At that point, feel free to go for regular Gatorade-type drinks (and their calories), which can give you a beneficial replenishment boost.
Buy comfy sneaks:
You shouldn't buy kicks that hurts, bottom line! "Your shoes should feel comfortable from the first step". So shop in the evening—your feet swell during the day and stop in the late afternoon, so you want to shop when they're at their biggest. Also make sure the sneaks are a little roomy—enough so that you can wiggle your toes. They should be comfy.
Find the best fitness friend:

A workout buddy is hugely helpful for keeping motivated, but it's important to find someone who will inspire—not discourage. So make a list of all your exercise-loving friends .Is she supportive (not disparaging) of your goals? And last, will your bud be able to keep up with you or even push your limits in key workouts? If you've got someone that fits all three, make that phone call.

Pick up your perfect tunes:

Running with music is a great way to get in a groove (just make sure it's not blasting too loudly, or you won't hear those cars!). To pick the ultimate iPod playlist, think about what gets you going. “I know several elite athletes that listen to what we'd consider ‘relaxing’ music, such as symphony music, while they do a hard workout”.

Police your portion:

Does your steak take up more than half your plate? Think about cutting your serving of beef in half. That's because it's best to try and fill half your plate with veggies or a mixture of veggies and fresh fruit, so that it's harder to overdo it on the more caloric dishes (like cheesy potatoes or barbecue sauce–slathered ribs—yum!).
Run with this:

Before you hit the road, make sure you're packing these key staples: a watch to log your total time (or a fancy GPS to track your mileage), an iPod with great amp-you-up music, a cell phone if you don't mind holding onto it, and a RoadID (a bracelet that includes all your vital information. And on a sunny day, wear sunglasses. "They reduce glare, which can decrease squinting, ultimately releasing the tension in your shoulders". Hey, we'll take a boost where we can get it!
Fun up your food
It's easy to get in a diet, even if you're loading up on flavorful fruits and veggies. The solution is, Have plenty of spices, fresh herbs, and lemons at your cooking beck and call. "It's amazing a little dash of spice, sprinkle of herbs, pinch of lemon zest, or squirt of lime juice can do to liven up a dish—and your diet". The best part: They contain almost no calories.
Find healthy fast food:

Have to work late tonight and need dinner—in a hurry? Not to worry. If you find fast food is your only option, pull up the restaurant's nutrition facts online before you go; you can make an informed decision ahead of time about what to order. "Nearly every quick-service restaurant has a relatively healthful option or two". We're thinking salads, chili, or grilled chicken.
Up your fiber intake:

Along with protein and good-for-you fat, fiber is one of those nutrition elements that keep you full and fueled all day long. And if you’re trying to get fit and shed pounds, fiber is your best friend. In fact, in one an American Heart Association study, participants who consuming 30 grams of fiber a day ended up losing weight and improving their heart health. So when it comes to staying healthy and slim, aim for that 30 gram fiber goal!
Work out in the morning:

Sure, it can be a pain to drag yourself out of bed for a morning workout. But according to a study from Appalachian State University, opting for a 45-minute a.m. sweat could cause a metabolic spike, helping your body continue to burn an additional 190 calories throughout the day.
Have a hearty breakfast:
By now you’re probably tired of hearing how breakfast is the most important meal of the day—but this tired piece of advice couldn’t be more true! In one study completed at the Imperial College of London, participants who skipped breakfast were more tempted to reach for unhealthy, high-calorie foods later in the day. And in case you need more evidence to eat that a.m. meal, further research found that women had a larger
When to weigh:

You've been following your diet for a whole week. Weigh to go! Now it's time to start tracking your progress (and make sure pesky pounds don't find their way back on). “It's best to step on the scale in the morning before eating or drinking”. For the most reliable number, be sure to check your poundage at a consistent time, whether daily or weekly.

Single vs Married Life

Marriage has a way of making people grow up and think about the future. Nights out with friends and crawling stores for clothes are replaced by eating in together and saving for a house but still have some enjoyable sides.

Fine Dining Etiquette

Table Etiquette

Setting the Table
Common side work procedures will often include arranging table settings for the next set of patrons, polishing flatware and folding cloth napkin into suitable designs. Formal dinner settings can include up to 20 pieces of dinnerware for just one guest, and with so many plates, utensils and glasses, it can seem confusing as to what to place where.

Table settings are always arranged for right handed people. In a clockwise direction you’ll find the following: wine and water glasses, spoons, knives and dinner plates with the napkin placed on top, dinner forks, bread plates and butter knife, and ending with the dessert spoon and dessert fork. There may be additional pieces such as cups and saucers or specialty utensils like seafood forks depending upon the menu.

  • TIPAlways make sure tablecloth are free of wrinkles and stains, and seams should be faced down. Allow the same amount of overhang on each side of the table.
  • TIPWhen setting the table, hold glasses by the stem and cutlery from the middle to minimize the appearance of finger prints.
Serving the Table- Most upscale dinners will include 5 courses, encompassing an appetizer, soup salad, entree, and dessert. Many formal restaurants practice the open hand service method, which means that a server’s arms are never to be crossed in front of a guest, and food is always served from the guest’s left side. Plates should be rotated when being served so the protein of a dish is facing the guest, as opposed to a vegetable

  • TIP -Have a warm manner but not over friendly. Great service is a subtle art form.

Clearing the TableThere are some signs to gauge when customers are done with their meals in fine dining restaurants. Napkins will be put back on the table, and cutlery is often placed in a vertical position on top of a patron’s dinner plate. If customers need to get up from the table to use the restroom, or make a phone call, napkins are placed on the chair to indicate the meal is not yet finished. Removal of plates should always be conducted from the right of the guest

    Important Tips to Remember:

  • Ladies are always served first
  • Never eat, drink, or chew gum in front of guests
  • Always exhibit proper posture- Do not slouch, cross your arms, or leave your hands in your pockets while on service

Lipstick Trends You're About To See Everywhere

Well, a new year brings fresh new trends, and 2017's batch is looking extra special. From pink pigments to glossy textures, there'a a whole lot to love about these tubes. Ahead, find some of the prettiest lipstick trends we'll be wearing in 2017.

Unapologetic Pink

pink is'nt just for girly-girls of the world anymore. Badass babes are popping on the bold hue, too, reaching for bright, pigmented magentas over sugary-sweet pastels.

Electric orange
Orange is making a strong comeback, but make no mistake:These are not the safe tomato-red hues of last year. They are bold, true orange shades that make a statement. When in doubt,go super-pigmented.

 Glitter Lips
You can thank makeup artist Pat McGrath and her Lust 004 (which, sadly, is no longer available) for ushering in the return of glitter lips. And while patting on loose glitter might not be your thing, there are plenty of sparkle-infused glosses to mimic the look.

'90s Rose
The '90s aren't going anywhere, as evidenced by the muted rose we spotted on the spring 2017 runways. The coolest way to wear this hue is with corresponding eye shadows and blushes for a full, monochromatic look.

 2000s Gloss
Last year was all about matte lips, so, inevitably, glossy lips would make a comeback. Any hue will do — from nudes to wines to pinks — as long as the finish is reflective.

3 simple beauty tips to look great this winter

Why 14 Feburary is allowed to celebrate in Islam

We are Muslims & Haya (shyness) is part of our iman, So:

"Haya comes from Iman; Iman leads to Paradise. Obscenity comes from antipathy; and antipathy leads to the fire." (Bukhari)

"Surely Allah (is One who) has haya and is the Protector. He loves haya and people who cover each others faults."(Bukhari)

We want celebrate 14 Feb as a HAYA DAY...

Islamically Haya is an attribute which pushes the believer to avoid anything distasteful or abominable. It keeps him/her from being neglectful in giving everyone what is due upon them, and if for any reason he/she is not able to keep up with his/her commitment then they will feel extremely uncomfortable and ashamed about this. The reason being that he/she will have displeased Allah by breaking a commitment.
Haya plays a huge role in the lives of Muslims because it is a very important part of our Iman (faith/belief). If we do not have any form of haya within us then it is most likely that our Iman is very weak. For as it states in the following hadith:
Narrated by Abu Huraira (ra): The Prophet said, "Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e. parts). And Haya is a part of faith." (Bukhari)
We also learn from the Prophet (saws) the importance of having haya and how it is not something to be ashamed of, but instead, one should be concerned and ashamed if they do not possess it within their character.
Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar (ra): The Prophet (saws) passed by a man who was admonishing his brother regarding Haya and was saying, "You are very shy, and I am afraid that might harm you." On that, Allah's Apostle said, "Leave him, for Haya is (a part) of Faith." (Bukhari)

Now the above hadith is also a form of proof that "shyness" is not just something regarding women but also an attribute that believing men should have, for it is an indication if their fear of Allah and an indication of the value of their Deen.
